Easily Sync Visual Studio Settings Across Machines

July 18, 2008

Sara Ford, from Codeplex and the author of one of my new favorite blogs has an excellent series on Visual Studio tips running on her blog.  This post jumped out at me as one of those, ‘why didn’t I know about this sooner?’  things.

I sync my work and home PCs using FolderShare and before this had to jump through a few extra hoops to keep my boxen’s setting files safely in sync.  Now I’ve followed Sara’s instructions to export my settings to my sync folder like so:

And then change my settings to use the team settings.

Easy as pie.  Thanks Sara!
